May Zin Oo earned her Ph.D. in Wireless Networking from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, in 2012. She then served as a teacher at Mandalay Technological University for nearly nine years, contributing to teaching, research, and IT infrastructure development on campus. In 2020, she was awarded the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship and completed professional training in higher education leadership and data governance at Pennsylvania State University.
She is currently a Business Applications Developer at Virginia Tech, where she supports the design and maintenance of business applications that improve internal operations and user experience across 27 Student Affairs departments. Her work focuses on developing customized solutions using the Microsoft 365 Power Platform—including Power Automate for workflow automation, Power Apps, and Power BI—to ensure that each application meets the specific needs of clients and stakeholders.
